CERTIFICATES ACCORDING TO EN 10204
Different types of certification with your order.
Why certification?
In the steel industry it is quite common to apply for a certificate with an order, but why do buyers actually want certification? With a certification, buyers can check whether the specifications and standards of the order correspond with the delivery of the products. There are different types of certificates.
Certificate 2.1
The 2.1 certificate is a declaration that the products to be delivered comply with the standards and specifications stated in the order. No examination results are reported with this certificate.
Certificate 2.2
The 2.2 certificate states that the articles to be delivered comply with the standards and specifications stated with the order. This declaration describes the results of non-prescribed inspections.
Certificate 3.1
The 3.1 certificate is a report of the ordered products. This report contains the inspection results of an authorised independent person of the factory. This assessor examines whether the articles to be delivered comply with the standards and specifications specified with the order.
The inspection report mentions the material specifications / properties of which material the bolt or nut is produced from, + any additional tests / measurements that have been carried out on the material. (for example: tensile strength-yield strength-chemical analysis-hardness)
Certificate 3.2
Just like the 3.1 certificate, the 3.2 certificate is an inspection report of the ordered products. A 3.2 certificate states that the production and certification took place under the supervision of an independent third party. This third party (e.g. TÜV, Lloyds, Bureau Veritas) also assesses whether the articles to be delivered comply with the standards and specifications stated with the order.
